Ginkgo,
Maidenhair Tree
Ginkgo biloba--Maidenhair Tree
Hardiness Zones: 4 to 8
Height: 65 ft
Spread: 75 ft
Form: pyramidal
Type: deciduous tree
Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches
Comments: Ginkgo is practically pest free, resistant to storm damage, and casts light shade. Only male plants should be used, as the female produces ill-smelling fruit in late autumn. Ginkgo tolerates most soil types. The tree is easily transplanted and has a yellow fall color. Its
unusual leaf shape gives it personality, and makes for a nice change
from the standard trees found in landscapes.
