a few tips for cooking sweet corn

Microwave: For steaming in the husk

Here's one that's quick and easy. Just pop your ear of corn in the microvwave, husks and all. Turn it on high for 3-4 minutes, and let it rest for a minute after the timer goes off. Once it's cooked, just peel it (careful of the hot husks!), grab some "corn stickers" if you want, and enjoy!

If you're cooking 2-3 ears, try 5-8 minutes on high, followed by a couple minutes resting. You might also want to flip the ears over, or shuffle them around midway through the cooking cycle. Cook time varies by microwave, especially when it comes to multiple ears. So play with it, enjoy the idea of a few less-cooked kernels your first time out, and have fun!

The best part of this cooking method is that all the vitamins stay locked in the corn, since it's not being boiled.

Coming soon: roasting, grilling, boiling, kabobs
